NEWS; BIG SEAN OPENS RECORDING STUDIO AT HIS FORMER HIGH SCHOOL

Big Sean is a man of his word. The rapper returned to the D this week and made good on a promise to the students at his alma mater, Cass Technical High School.
If they raised their ACT scores, Sean told them he would build them a recording studio. With the help of adidas, he did just that and opened the 784-square-foot Sean Anderson Studio of Infinite Possibilities. During the ceremony, a proud Sean spoke to students and received tributes from the mayor’s office.
“I can’t believe I used to rap at the lunch tables, slang my CDs in the hallways, and fast forward less than 10 years later I’m opening up my own recording studio at my old High School Cass Tech for the students! This brings me tears of Joy!” he tweeted.
He also sat down with 7 Action News anchor Carolyn Clifford to talk about the emotional moment. “It was so crazy to come back and see they were literally jumping out their seats for me,” said Sean.
He recently shot a video for his next single, “One Man Can Change the World” featuring Kanye West and John Legend. The song is dedicated to his late grandmother, who was one of the first female black captains in World War II. “I’m really excited about putting my heart into it and putting something different out there,” he said.
